COMING SOON – Mansell Trilogy – Part I

As far as I’m concerned, this is the big one.

Most sport fans have a figure who inspired them and caught their imagination, resulting in their love of sport developing and growing. For me, that person was Nigel Mansell – when I saw him win the 1991 British Grand Prix as an 8-year-old boy he became my hero, a position which he has held pretty-much ever since.

I am therefore delighted to announce that I have reached agreement with UK Youth for Nigel to sign a number of limited edition dioramas, beginning with “1st Race, 1st Pole, 1st Win”.

Further details will be announced in coming days, with the first of the dioramas to be auctioned at next month’s UK Youth Annual Gala Dinner.

Built on a solid oak base, this hand-built diorama depicts Nigel Mansell, driving the iconic Newman Haas Lola Ford T93-00 sweeping around the Surfers Paradise circuit on Australia’s Gold Coast on his way to winning his first ever IndyCar race in 1993.

Having finally won the Formula One World Championship in 1992, Mansell took the unprecedented move of switching to IndyCar racing in 1993. He took the series by storm, winning his first ever IndyCar race, and going on to win the IndyCar championship at his first attempt; in doing so becoming the first and only driver to ever win both championships back-to-back. This diorama captures the moment of his first ever IndyCar victory in more accuracy and detail than has ever been achieved before.

10% of the proceeds from the sale of each diorama will be donated to UK Youth, a charity of which Nigel Mansell is President. UK Youth is a leading charity with a vision that all young people are equipped to thrive and empowered to contribute at every stage of their lives. With an open network of more than 8,000 youth organisations and nation partners; UK Youth reaches more than four million young people across the UK and is focused on unlocking youth work as the catalyst of change that is needed now more than ever. The diorama comes packed in a custom-made protective box, and is packaged in high-quality foam in order to ensure that the model is not damaged whilst in transit. Also included is a unique Bad Wolf Miniatures certificate of authenticity, hand-signed to confirm that each model is one of a strictly limited edition of only 6x unique pieces.
